Guild Member Seminars:

Esther Vinaric

Last year our Guild began a series of seminars taught by our own talented members.

Our latest guild member seminar was a Christmas Cactus by Maureen McNaughton taught by Esther Vinaric. It was held on September 12 & 13, 2009. Please click here for pics of that seminar.

Members wishing to teach the September 2010 seminar are invited to bring their projects to the April meeting at which time it will be decided which project will be taught. Registration for this seminar will begin in May.

MADP Workshops:

January 2010 - Artist Melanie Matthews presented a workshop on image transfer techniques.

Please click here to see pics of her workshop.

Melanie's web site is:
www.melaniematthews.ca

February 2010 - Jackie Nadeau taught a downy woodpecker project. Everyone learned a lot, and was kept busy late into the afternoon – check out pics of it on our workshop page by clicking here.

Jackie also gave us some great tips on preparing surfaced for painting. Check them out on our Tips & Techniques page by clicking here.

April 2010 - Johanne Jodoin taught a faux cloisonné orchids project. Everyone chose something different to paint the project on, metal objects being a favorite.

This project required the use of the new gold dimensional writer and many glass stains, and Johanne guided us through the use of these new mediums.

Please click here to see pics of this workshop.

May 2010 - Claudine Delaunay demonstrated watercolor techniques that had been adapted to acrylics.

Her use of 2010 colors gave us some great ideas for bright new backgrounds.

Please click here to see pics of this workshop.

October 2010 - Claudie Cardin will be teaching her own iridescent fossil tree finish and a Vicki Rhodes mother of pearl faux fini.

Claudie will be using JoSonja paints.

If you have not yet registered for this workshop, please contact Carole Anthony or Mary D'Abramo.

The following future workshops are also in the planning stages:

September 2010 - Eric Sauvageau, sales representative for Heinz Jordan, will present a brush workshop.

November 2010 - We will be finishing off the Treasure boxes from the Salon des arts décoratifs.
