The 18th annual
Exhibition & Sale was held at the Pierrefonds Cultural
Center on the 13th, 14th and 15th of November 2009. As usual,
it was a busy place, with many visitors looking for that
special item to fit into their home or give as a gift.

on our book to see just a few of the beautiful pieces
that were at this year's Exhibition & Sale. |
This
year, approximately thirty members submitted as many as
1500 items ranging in size from small pins to tables and
armoires. Large
Christmas trees were full of beautiful hand-painted decorations,
all one of a kind. There were also hand-painted sleds, shovels,
and so much more! |
|

Other themes
included Nature, Country, Children, decorative items that
have a Victorian feel, and those that might work well in
a room with antiques. We
paint on wood, tin, fabric, leather, glass, canvas and paper,
so you were bound to find just the right article for you.

This year,
there was also an area set up with pictures of our mural
project at the Kirkland Library, to show visitors the steps
it took to create a decorative mural. To see pics of our
library mural project, please click

There was also
a display of some of the many Treasure Boxes our members
paint for children to put their 'treasures' in during their
stay at the Montreal Shriners Hospital. This year there
were even more Treasure Boxes thanks to the many volunteer
painters at the Salon des arts décoratifs that was
held in October. (Please click here
for more information about our ongoing Treasure Boxes project.)

All participating
artists worked at least nine hours during the two-day event,
giving the public the opportunity to meet with us.
